Aspect Pattern Calculator

The Aspect Pattern Calculator scans your birth chart for the recognizable geometric configurations that form when several planets sit at specific angles to one another. Individual aspects, like a conjunction (0 degrees), sextile (60), square (90), trine (120), and opposition (180), describe how two planets interact, but when three or more aspects link up they create larger patterns such as the Grand Trine, T-Square, Grand Cross, Yod, Mystic Rectangle, and Stellium. This tool identifies which of these patterns appear in your chart.

To detect a pattern the calculator measures the angular separation between every pair of planets and checks whether the combination falls within an acceptable orb, the small tolerance astrologers allow around an exact angle. A Grand Trine, for instance, requires three planets roughly 120 degrees apart forming an equilateral triangle, while a T-Square needs two planets in opposition both squaring a third focal planet. Accurate planetary positions, which depend on your birth date, time, and place, make these detections reliable.

Each pattern carries a distinct dynamic. A Grand Trine suggests easy, flowing talent within one element; a T-Square indicates tension and drive concentrated on an apex planet; a Yod, sometimes called the Finger of God, points to a karmic focus demanding adjustment; and a Stellium shows three or more planets crowded into one sign or house, intensifying that area of life. Recognizing your patterns helps explain recurring themes that single placements miss.
